Nominate your lecturer for the Leiden Teaching Prize

Is your lecturer the best at teaching you about his/her subject or research and does he/she stimulate studying with innovative and interactive courses? Nominate him/her for the Leiden Teaching Prize of 2016-2017! By winning this prize he/she is admitted to the Leiden Teachers’ Academy and receives 25.000 euros to spend on his/her teaching or research.

You can nominate your lecturer until Monday the 24th of October with a group of four students by filling in this nomination form. Not only do you explain why he/she deserves to win the prize, but also why he/she meets the criteria found below. Later this year, it will also be possible to nominate teachers. The Teaching Prize will be awarded during the opening of the academic year.

  • He/she has a clear affinity with his/her discipline and knows how to communicate this to students, by building a bridge to the labour market, current affairs and research.

  • He/she guides his/her student as much as possible with their personal development.

  • He/she ensures that students are encouraged and actively participate during the lectures.

The Platform consists of 8 members, one of each faculty and a chairman. Their task is to give council to the Executive Board of Leiden University and do so by organising meetings and Breakfast clubs, in which students search for solutions to make the University even better. Besides that, the platform grants the Leiden University Teaching Prize each year.
