On Friday 16 December the Research Traineeship Programme opened officially. Aurelie van ‘t Slot, the student-assessor of Humanities, opened with a great speech. She talked about her experiences as a student-trainee at the University of Tilburg and how much she learned from it. She explained how the programme was established. And, of course, she wished the trainees the best of luck. Afterwards, the trainees pitched their projects. The trainees were able to explain their projects in an interesting and fun way, in less than 3 minutes! One team, Who are the Squatters , gave, according to the jury, the most inspiring pitch and they won the competition.
Eighteen students have been selected to participate as trainees in the Programme, congratulations to them! On Friday the 16th of December, the programme will start with an official opening. Before that, the trainees will receive a workshop on ‘presenting in the academics’ by Herman Visser and Kick Moors. On Friday, they can put the theory to practice. The trainees are asked to give an elevator pitch on their project for a public and a jury.
The Review Committee has decided on which projects will start in December 2016! You can read the proposal of each project under the heading Research Projects.
