2 September 2009: PhD-afternoon
2 September 2009, 14.00 h: presentation of researchprojects of the PhD students of the Institute for Religious Studies.
The Leiden Institute of Religious Studies is proud to announce the first “Promovendimiddag”(PhD-afternoon). PhD-students constitute an important part of the research environment of our Institute, so why not make this group better known to students, senior staff and sister institutes alike? About 10 members of the large PhD-population from the Leiden Institute of Religious Studies (LUIRS) and the Protestant Theological University at Leiden (PThU) will present their research projects and first results on posters, and even more PhD-students will be present and eager to discuss their projects with guests and colleagues.
The PhD-afternoon will be a great opportunity for PhD-students and senior researchers from Leiden and beyond to meet each other, exchange ideas, discover shared interests and develop new network relations for mutual benefit. We also encourage MA-students and others who are considering a PhD-project to come along, talk with real promovendi to see how it is to be a PhD-student and discover if doing a PhD in Leiden might not be a good option. Come to discover!
The exhibition will be opened by Prof. Jürgen K. Zangenberg, Academic Director of LUIRS, at 14 h in the Institute Building Matthias de Vrieshof 1, first floor.
Participants and guests are invited to have lunch with us at 13 h in the 'Koffiekamer'.
