The Graduate School of the Institute of Religious Studies offers two one-year MA-Programmes. In addition, very talented students, with a keen interest in research and the academic world, can apply for the two-year Research Master's programme.
Master in Religious Studies

A one-year curriculum which covers a multitude of tracks:

- Christianity in the Middle East
- Comparative Religion
- Enlightenment and Modernism in Christianity and Judaism
- Islam in Western Europe
- Religion, Science and Ethics: Philosophical Approaches

Master in Islamic Theology
Language of instruction: English
This one-year MA programme provides an introduction to the various theoretical and methodological approaches to historical and current forms of Islam. The focus of this programme is on the study of contemporary Islam in the European context, studied predominantly from a literary and historical perspective. This in comparison to the MA programme Islamic Studies (Faculty of Humanities) which focuses on the comparative study of Muslim society.

Admissions
Students who have a BA in Theology or World Religions from Leiden University do not have to apply for admission. They will automatically receive a registration form in June. These students are requested to return the registration form before 1 August.
