Lecture Forum Antiquum May 31st: Dionysius of Halicarnassus and Regime Change

On Thursday the 31st of May professor Christopher Pelling (Oxford University) will hold the last Forum Antiquum lecture of this term. His lecture "Dionysius of Halicarnassus and Regime Change" is also part of the conference "Dionysius of Halicarnassus and Augustan Rome". Afterwards there is a reception at the Faculty Club. Everyone is welcome to attend!


International Conference: Dionysius of Halicarnassus and Augustan Rome

On Thursday 31 May and Friday 1 June 2012 an international conference on Dionysius of Halicarnassus and Augustan Rome will be held at Leiden University. In recent years, there has been a remarkable revival of interest in Dionysius and his intellectual context. This international conference brings together the leading specialists in Dionysian scholarship: scholars working on rhetorical theory, literary criticism, historiography, and Roman culture.
