Project description
The Beijing/Helsinki/Leiden cooperation on oral traditions both on technical aspect of oral tradition research and more research-like angle will best grasp the COREACH idea of knowledge exchange. So, the consecutive workshops, starting in Leiden in 2009, continuing in 2010 in Helsinki and then concluding in Beijing in 2011 will be organized by the three parties. The project will consist of following parts:
- Leiden Oral Traditions Workshop to be organized in August 2009.
- Folklore Fellows’ Summer School(FFSS)to be organized under the aegis of the Folklore Fellows of the Finnish Academy of Sciences in August 2-11, 2010.
- Preparing a workshop on the topic of digital folklore archive at the FFSS, and organizing an additional one-day seminar at the Finnish Literature Society in August 12, 2010.
- International Seminar on Documentation and Archiving of Oral Tradition to be organized by the Institute of Ethnic Literature of CASS in August 20-23, 2011.
