Research profile

The linguistic research carried out within LUCL can be divided in three thematic groups. These groups cover the areas of language description and language use, language and history and formal theoretical and experimental linguistics.

Language description and language use
This group combines the descriptive linguists with the researchers that study language use (from a number of theoretical perspectives).

Language and history
This group includes researchers in the field of historical linguistics as well as philologists interested in specific languages and language families (such as Indo-European, Semitic, Altaic and others).

Formal theoretical and experimental linguistics
This group combines the formal linguists with experimental researchers.
