Introduction

From 21 till 23 January 2009 the second international conference Rhetoric in Society took place in Leiden, at the Faculty of Humanities.   
Over 90 speakers from all over the world discussed a wide range of topics and approaches to rhetoric: from modern applications of classical approaches, rhetorical criticism, argumentation studies and communication studies to journalism studies and new media studies.
