Call for papers
LUCL Leiden and the Italian department of the University of Leiden are happy to announce the first Italian Dialect Meeting to be held at the Leiden University Centre for Linguistics on May 24-26 2012.
The Italian Dialect Meeting aims at bringing together Italian dialectologists from all linguistic subdisciplines working on any aspect of Italian dialectology. Following the tradition established by the Cambridge Italian Dialect Syntax Meeting and the Italian Dialects in Diachrony, we encourage discussion between dialectologists with different views on dialects in the hope of creating an extended platform for the study of dialects which goes beyond the local centre and particular approach. We welcome papers on phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and sociolinguistics with a focus on one or more Italian dialects. Papers on non-Romance varieties spoken on the Italian territory are also welcome.
More details on how the register are below. Registration is free.
Keynote speakers:
Birgit Alber, Silvio Cruschina, Franco Fanciullo, Carla Marcato, Mair Parry, Diego Pescarini and Tullio Telmon.
