Recently, the Leiden University Buddhist Studies Network has been established by dr. Henk Blezer from LIAS, the Leiden University Institute for Area Studies.

The online community is meant to present courses, lectures and conferences on Buddhism within Leiden University to a larger public, and to connect students, scholars and researchers within the field. The information placed there is accessible to everyone, active participation requires registration.

In the future, the Leiden University Buddhist Studies Network wants to function as a centre of expertise for Buddhism studies. A similar network community is already available for Islamic studies: LUCIS.
