Fields of interest
My fields of interest include Arabic literature and culture, language, and translation. My research specialization lies in Modern and contemporary Egyptian novels and short-stories. Most of my work focuses on the evolution of urban structures in modern and contemporary Cairo and its influence on literary texts. Other research interests include women Palestinian writers and National liberation movement, as well as representation of social protest and revolutionary changes in Egyptian literature. My work is mostly based on a close reading of texts and combines narratology and sociological analysis, thus keeping in mind the socio-political context.
