General Dutch Language Courses

These courses focus on all language skills: speaking, writing, listening and reading. Grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary are comprehensively discussed. The courses are practical and are aimed at making use of the language.

Basic Dutch for international students

  • Dutch 1B (also for students who followed the Crash courses summer 2011)

Preparatory course for the Staatsexamen NT2 Programme II

This course prepares students for the Staatsexamen NT2 Programme II. They will practise for the state exam by using examples from sample test papers. 

Dutch for German speakers

This is a short intensive course aimed at native speakers of German. Covering four levels in 4 weeks, this course is particularly suitable for students who are preparing for a degree programme in Psychology at Leiden University.

The Dutch Plus courses are advanced courses which are aimed at improving one specific language skill: 
 

 

Civic Integration / Inburgering

During the courses we will prepare your for the State examination NT2 programme ll, which will give you a command of the Dutch language at a higher level. This exam is an exemption for the exam Inburgering.

Dutch for Prospective Students

Prospective students with a non-Dutch secondary educational background must have a good command of Dutch for entry to a bachelor programme at Leiden University. The university provides Dutch courses for these students. Prospective students who already have a command of Dutch can do an entrance exam.
