Dutch 1B is a follow-up course to Dutch 1A and to the Dutch crash course from the induction programme in Summer 2011.

number of classes: 12 classes of 1,75 hours (including breaks)
preparation: approximately 2 hours per lesson
target group: international students
group size: minimum of 8, maximum of 16 students
languages of instruction: Dutch and English
course conclusion: final test  and certificate (minimum attendance: 80% of the lessons)
ECTS  The student should enquire with their department whether course participation can be converted into credits. The course is equivalent to 3 ECTS 
course material: De Delftse Methode (textbook and exercisebook) - app. €90 chapters 8-16
You can also borrow a reader with the course material at the Academic Language Centre, which you will have to return after use.

Dutch 1B is a follow up course to Dutch 1A and to the Dutch crash course from the induction programme in Summer 2011. The course is a beginners' course of Dutch as a second language (NT2) for international students of the University of Leiden. All the basic language skills will be dealt with: speaking, listening, writing and reading. During the course you will acquire basic Dutch grammar and vocabulary. Reading texts and topics of conversation will be centred around everyday situations, giving you the opportunity to become familiar with both informal and formal language use.
