course description
Dutch 1 is a course in the series Dutch as a Second Language for beginners. In this course, all the basic skills will be covered: conversation, listening, writing and reading. Particular attention will be given to everyday usage. During the course, basic Dutch grammar will be taught. The vocabulary element consists of basic Dutch vocabulary, from which approximately 650 words will be taken. Conversation skills will be practised with the whole class as well as in groups, and language lab equipment will be used. Students are expected to prepare at home; preparation time is estimated at approximately 2 hours per session. Upon completing the course, participants will be able to have a basic conversation on everyday subjects, like where they live, where they are from and family matters. Participants will also be able to read notices and basic texts. Course result: level A1 (Common European Framework).
