Research

The aesthetics of popular culture, in particular: literary nonsense; action-series and films featuring female heroes. Dr Tigges is currently co-editor, with Lorna Jowett and Deborah Monroy, of a forthcoming collection of papers on "Xena: Warrior Princess"

Teaching activities

Dr Tigges has taught courses on Old and Middle English as well as on Modern English and Irish literature, as well as introductory courses on Old and Modern (Gaelic) Irish.
