Research

Anna Grasskamp prepares a PhD dissertation on collecting practices in early modern China and Europe with the working title Cultivated Curiosities. A Comparative Study of Chinese Artifacts in European Kunst- und Wunderkammern and European Curiosities in Chinese Elite Collections. Her research is made possible by the Hulsewé-Wazniewski Foundation (Hulsewé-Wazniewski Stichting, HWS)  for the advancement of teaching and research in the archeology, art and material culture of China at Leiden University.
