Curriculum vitae
Arie van Steensel (1982) was born in Utrecht, and studied History (2000-2005) and Philosophy (2001-2007) at Leiden University. He graduated cum laude in history with a thesis on the officials and personnel of the late medieval towns of Haarlem and Leiden, which was awarded the Fruin Prize 2005

Currently, he is preparing a PhD thesis on the nobility of the late medieval county of Zeeland, as part of the NWO research project Burgundian nobility. Princely politics and noble families (1425-1525).

He is a board member of Promovendi Netwerk Nederland, the representative body of all PhD candidates in The Netherlands, since December 2007.

He was an editor of Leidschrift, a history journal from 2002 to 2007.
