Marianne Eekhout studied history (BA and MA) at the University of Groningen and specialised in history of political culture during her MA. In 2007 she also received her BA in art history. Subsequently, she participated in an MA programme in cultural heritage at Utrecht University for which she graduated in 2008.
Currently Marianne is working as a PhD student in the VICI project Tales of the Revolt. Memory, oblivion and identity in the Low Countries 1566-1700 directed by prof. dr. Judith Pollmann (www.talesoftherevolt.leidenuniv.nl). Her subproject is Community and memory. Mediating local memories of the Dutch Revolt, 1566-1700.
