Research

My research explores the role of domestic factors in shaping state foreign policy, focusing on a comparative analysis of European and US security policies and military operations. My academic interests especially concentrate on the increasing privatization of military and security task, its drivers and its political, strategic and ethical implications. I have also worked extensively on the regulation of the private security industry and on transatlantic relations as a member of the Priv-War and TransWorld research projects, both funded by the EU under the 7th Framework Program
