General
This new scholarship programme, called the Huygens Scholarship Programme (HSP), has been set up by the Ministry of Education. HSP is targeted at international students and researchers who want to study or undertake research in the Netherlands (Huygens International Programme).

Application
The Application deadline is 1 February 2008 and it requires proof of (provisional) acceptance by the University. Information on this and other grant possibilities can be found on the website of Nuffic, the Netherlands Organization for international cooperation in higher education. An additional, valuable resource is the Grantfinder.

Before you can apply for a scholarship, you must first obtain a HSP Huygens application number. You can get an application number in the following way:
  • When you apply for admission to a study programme in the Netherlands, you should indicate that you wish to apply for a HSP Huygens scholarship.
  • If the Dutch institution agrees with your candidacy for a HSP Huygens scholarship, they will send an approval notice to Nuffic. The approval notice is a standardized form used by the institution to provide Nuffic with some details about you and your proposed programme of study.
  • Once we have processed these details, Nuffic will send you a HSP Huygens application number by e-mail.
  • You can submit an application to Nuffic as soon as you have received a HSP Huygens application number.

NOTE: The ISAT-code (CROHO-code) for the MA European Union Studies is 60500.
