Bachelor's programmes
- The Faculty of Humanities boasts a wealth of expertise in the fields of philosophy, history, religious studies, art history, literature, linguistics, media and area studies. It harbours the widest selection of language and culture studies in the Netherlands, both from a historical and a geographical point of view.
The programmes on offer range from Latin American Studies to Korean Language and Culture, and from modern languages and cultures to ancient ones, like Akkadian and Egyptian. Moreover, some of the programmes offered in Leiden are unique in the Netherlands.
In addition to the many language and culture programmes, the faculty is also home to outstanding institutes for History, Religion, Philosophy, Creative and Performing Arts, Area Studies and Cultural Disciplines.
