Summer school for PhD students and Post-docs at the German Orient Institute in Beirut
The Orient-Institut Beirut (OIB) organizes an international summer school for doctoral and post-doctoral students, held from 13-19 September 2010 under the topic "Official Religion in the Middle East: Political Opportunities and Constraints". The event is funded by a generous grant of the Volkswagen Foundation.
Vacancies for PhD positions
Starting September 2010 the Leiden Institute for Area Studies has three full time (38 hrs) vacancies, available as 4 year PhD positions. As well as a 3 year Post-Doctoral fellowship, starting in 2011, in the VICI project "Buddhism and Social Justice: Doctrine, Ideology and Discrimination in Tension," headed by Prof dr. Jonathan A. Silk.
